I define “sexy” as beautiful. Not in a sexual way where I’m trying to say, “HEY HAVE SEX WITH ME!” But in a way where you can portray yourself as a strong, independent, confident women or man! Knowing what you want in life and working towards your goals is sexy. Similar to what I answered in the bikini or lingerie post.
I personally view touch – and by extension, many sex acts – as an important aspect in many people’s lives. Most often, when I talk to people who disregard safe sex practices, it’s typically either because they feel as though using condoms are “unsexy” or because they believe that it doesn’t feel as good when barriers are involved.
The issues with unsexiness can easily be solved with a little forethought – with the right attitude, rolling an external condom on can be just another teasing part of foreplay and internal condoms (commonly called “female condoms”) can often be inserted using a toy or put into place while one’s partner provides foreplay.
I’ve also found that generally, issues regarding discomfort can be solved with a little troubleshooting – if the external condom feels too tight it’s good to look into XL options (and try a variety of brands, since each one fits differently!), if external condoms tend to slip off then there are brands which make slim fit options and if the issue is with generalized discomfort, try putting a bit of lube in the tip of the external condoms before rolling them on and trying a selection of different lube styles and brands (making sure they’re all water or silicone-based) to see if one will help with the sensations.

How Female Condoms Work
Internal condoms work by being inserted into either the vagina or anus of the receptive partner. They stay in place via a flexible internal ring – often removed if used anally or with penises which are particularly long/thick – and the inside of the condom typically is packaged lubricated, though in my experience, additional lube is often required for a comfortable experience.
Some benefits of this style of condom include added protection from skin-transferred STIs such as herpes – the open end of the condom stays outside the vagina and covers the outer labia when used properly – as well as decreasing the likelihood of micro-tearing that can facilitate STI transmission.
Because this style of condom is inserted as opposed to worn, it decreases friction on the receptive partner and increases stimulation on the penetrative partner, which means that many people have reported it feeling equivalent to unprotected penetration.
I personally find the sensations superior to unprotected sex – there’s far less irritation when you’ve been going at it for hours and it makes cleanup an absolute breeze, so there’s no unpleasantly sticky feeling afterwards (and no offsetting of the vaginal pH due to the effects of semen).
Additionally, internal condoms are a phenomenal solution for penises that are too big for traditional condoms to be comfortable, too small for traditional condoms to fit well or penises which don’t reach full hardness (or which can go soft periodically during sex). In many ways, internal condoms are superior to external condoms in terms of their suitability for a wide variety of situations.
Lack Of Popularity Of Female Condoms
My opinion is that part of the reason why internal condoms are less common is because they’re not included in basic sex ed courses the way that external condom are.
Add to that the squeamishness factor – many people aren’t comfortable inserting any sort of contraceptive device into their vagina – and the perceived unsexiness due to the end which is left external…and oftentimes people who haven’t tried them yet will dismiss them out of hand.
All I can say is that in my experience, the insertion is much easier with a little practice – I can actually do it one-handed at this point – and I’ve never had a partner complain about the external portion being a detraction. Especially if there’s an existing dissatisfaction with external condoms those mild complaints will pale in comparison to the increase in comfort and sensation.
The main downside is that they can be hard to obtain and often cost a bit more than external condoms. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions Catrina. One question before we end, how do you define “sexy”?
It is characterized by confidence and maturity. Sexy does not literally mean showing excessive skin. You are sexy when you become sure of yourself, when you are capable of making decisions and willing to take responsibility of the consequences.
I’m a software engineer, born and raised in sunny California! I’ve enjoyed doing editorial and lifestyle shoots for art and stress relief for years. I also compete in beauty pageants and am currently Miss Southwest Earth United States 2017. I still can’t decide if I’m an introvert or an extrovert. You can usually find me either curled up at home with a good book or crashing various parties.

What perks do you enjoy most about being a model?
Modeling has really changed how people treat me (for the better)! It’s also led to some interesting opportunities. I recently was (very briefly) in a P-Lo feat G-Eazy music video and have a couple of upcoming editorials in digital magazines.
Which is your favorite or most memorable photoshoot experience?
Recently a photographer submerged me in a warm milk bath and piled tons of orange slices and flowers on me. It felt like a trip to the spa and smelled like sitting in ice cream. I got so comfortable I almost forgot to pose.

Is posing on camera a lot harder than it looks?
It is! I’m the most uncoordinated person in the world (huge fear of going down escalators) so it’s especially hard for me. The best models understand lighting and gear really well – you have to be able to imagine what the photographer is seeing and adjust your poses accordingly. Of course, the better the photographer, the less hard I have to work.
Is there a food or drink you can’t live without?
I have a strange love for pork intestines. It’s really difficult to find and weirds out some of my friends, but you can’t beat that yummy chewy texture. It also has a lot of zinc and minerals and is really nutritious.

Do you believe in any superstition?
Sometimes I get irrational urges. Like, I’ll be afraid that if I don’t pick up a sock on the floor, I’ll fail a midterm. It might be my neurotic side showing. I also leave a lot of socks on the floor.

Would you rather have the ability to mind read or teleport?
That’s a hard question! Mind reading is probably better for my career, but I’d imagine people have all kinds of weird thoughts that I wouldn’t always want to see. Or it’d be unsettling to read someone’s thoughts and know exactly what they were thinking about me at the time, with absolutely no filter. So, I’ll go with teleportation, it’d be fun to be a travel blogger.
What is the funniest or lamest attempt a guy has tried to know you?
Once a guy hid my phone during a first date and pretended to find it! I had just gone to the bathroom and accidentally left my phone on the table. When I got back, it was gone! I was freaking out and had just about given up when he suddenly was like, “Oh, I found your phone.” I only knew it was fake because he pretended to find it in a spot that I had searched a few minutes ago. There definitely wasn’t a second date after that.

Intelligence is the ultimate turn on. The sexiest people I’ve dated all had unique, fascinating minds. People that can play mind games well are extremely sexy, à la Chuck from Gossip Girl.
